Later in the Spring, when Taggart Lake finally deices, vivid bursts of green explode on the aspens and in the grass while the Tetons still retain a wintry appearance. The effect is impressive enough that I made it the subject of my 40th anniversary painting. I painted this to commemorate 40 years in the gallery business and 40 years as a full-time artist in 2009. The occasion helped title the painting. This is the same view I enjoyed almost 50 years ago when I moved to Jackson to work at Jackson Lake Lodge for the Summers. It is as beautiful as ever today.
