With the end of the brutal civil war in sight, people on both sides felt anger and frustration toward fellow Americans. Lincoln sought to rise above this divide and start the process of healing. Throughout the speech, he uses the words âusâ and âweâ instead of âmeâ and âI,â another reminder that we as Americans are a team, united, strongest together. He is pictured here on the evening of April 14 on his way to the Ford Theaterâthis was his âlast night outâ-- but for his legacy of togetherness, justice, and freedom, for which he is widely celebrated as Americaâs favorite President, it was only the beginning.
Proceeds of works sold will be donated to MercuryOne, one of Mr. Beck's non-profit organizations that includes a history museum whose library is only surpassed in volume and significance by the Library of Congress and The National Archives. MercuryOne also houses education classrooms, a large first responder team for natural disasters, two anti-human trafficking teams, The Nazerene Fund, which has freed, fed and housed over 100,000 religious minority refugees from the Middle East as well as continues funding for Operation Underground Railroad.
