Tim is a self-taught artist who began painting in 2017 from a flat in New Delhi, India—where he worked for the last 10 years. He has spent most of his life in Texas and India, but now resides in Utah. His interests include his family, culture, reading, spirituality, and art.
Tim decided to forgo a traditional art education because he wanted to be a working artist. He studies privately with Jonathan Hardesty and has taken workshops with Josh Clare and Nathan Fowkes, in addition to his personal research.
With his pictures, Tim attempts to capture the vast and dramatic skies (a somewhat “Texan” sensibility), the sacredness of space (an Indian influence), and the natural beauty of the Utah landscape.
Tim has learned the rudiments of 2 dead languages (Greek and Hebrew), and one spoken (Hindi). He considers pictures to be his fourth language—and sometimes dreams in this language as he has the others.
Tim is passionate about learning about other cultures—particularly Hindu culture. This picture is from his daughters’ Naamkaran, or “baby-naming ceremony…” in Delhi, India.
Shanti (peace).
